Looks Like We Have Reason To Cheer Today, Gunners!!!

Is it too early to raise our mugs of lager and shout, "Cheers, Gunners!"? Twitter has been abuzz all morning with stories of Carzola heading to London for medicals.

The Malaga FC website has also reported that Carzola is the only player who was absent from training this morning with the club's permission.
Malaga website story confirming his absence at training today

There's a Spanish tweet with a picture of him that was purportedly taken at the airport on his way to London featuring him and another fellow wearing a jacket with "Airport Assistant" emblazoned on it. Hardly conclusive evidence I agree

Most of the major news stations including Sky Sports -which is usually all the authentication I need- have dared to run with the story of his expected arrival in London.

Take-over talks with Albanian company Taci, are reported to have broken down which would have solved all Malaga's financial problems of the moment. Although there's still interest from Russia and the Middle East, the deal with Arsenal to sell Carzola looks like Malaga really need it. I'm not one to gloat over another's misfortune really but....

So unless the medicals somehow show that he has two left feet, I expect Santi Carzola to be confirmed as an Arsenal player within the next 48 hours.

You think we should put all the beer back in the ice-box and wait?
